We're happy to announce that we helped to develop an intra-articular (IA) delivery model in the GastroPlus® Additional Dosage Routes Module.
The aim of this study was to develop a PBPK model of a molecule to be able to simulate the exposure in the synovial fluid and plasma following an intra-articular administration in adults. The approach was to use preclinical models to simulate the systemic concentration after IV and PO and then IA administration. Once the preclinical models were considered appropriate the approach was used to predict a dose in human for a target concentration in the synovial fluid.
